Privacy Statement

EQwise processes personal data carefully and no more than necessary. Below you can read which data we process, why, for how long, with whom we share it, and what your rights are.

Which data we process and how we obtain it

We only process data that you provide to us yourself or that is generated automatically during a visit to the website:

• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message.
• Free website scan: your name, email address, the website address you provide, and any question you may have.
• Contact by phone or email: the data you share with us during that contact.
• Automatic data: our hosting provider records technical server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. This is part of the normal operation and security of the server.

We do not collect special categories of personal data and do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.

Purpose and legal basis

• To respond to your request or question and to perform the free website scan. Legal basis: performance of or preparation for a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 sub b GDPR), or our legitimate interest in responding to contact (Art. 6 para. 1 sub f GDPR).
• For administration and invoicing if you become a customer. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 sub c GDPR) and performance of the contract.
• For the security and proper functioning of the website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 sub f GDPR).

How long we retain data

We do not retain your data longer than necessary. Messages and requests that do not lead to an assignment are kept as long as necessary to handle your question properly and no longer than strictly necessary thereafter. Data associated with an assignment or invoice is kept for as long as the law requires — for financial administration, this is seven years. Server logs are cleared by the hosting provider within a limited period.

With whom we share data

We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes. We do engage service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our hosting provider (for running the website and email) and, where applicable, our backup facility. Data processing agreements have been or will be concluded with these parties. Additionally, we may share data if we are legally required to do so.

Transfer outside the EU

We strive to process your data within the European Economic Area. If a transfer to a country outside the EEA does take place, it will only occur with appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

Cookies

This website only uses functional cookies that are necessary for the site to work properly, for example, to remember your language choice. We do not use tracking, analytical, or advertising cookies. You can read more about this in our cookie policy.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. The website operates entirely over a secure connection (SSL/TLS), we perform periodic backups, and access to data is restricted to those who need it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can also object to the processing, request restriction, have your data transferred, and withdraw previously given consent. To do so, please send a message to mdesmit@eqwise.nl. We will respond as soon as possible and at the latest within one month.

Filing a complaint

If you do not agree with how we handle your data, we would like to hear from you so we can resolve it. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Changes

We may adjust this privacy statement, for example, if we change our working method or the website. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
